General Comments
I will never use them again nor recommend Halifax to anyone I know. This was the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life, and given that I am 42, it is long enough to have experienced some pretty poor service. The Halifax staff were unpleasant, unhelpful and misinformed. They would not allow me to withdraw my own money, even though I had proof of ID (passport, credit card, bills, etc). When I got home, I contacted the customer center to be told that the Halifax on London Rd, Brighton, branch had misinformed me, and that I did not require more proof of ID nor the additional signatory to be present, as the form we had filled in sufficed. I admit that I was in a dreadful mood and was less than polite myself. However, this followed my third visit to the branch, a dreadful waste of time and all to withdraw £50!
