Good Points

Tremendous performance for the money. Brilliant all-rounder.


Bad Points

The engine thermostat. The OE item supplied by BMW is total rubbish and may fail in less than 3 months. My car has had 4 replacements fitted to my knowledge. 1) Watch the temp gauge like a hawk. 2) Try and fit a pattern part rather than a BMW original - can't possible be any worse than the real one.


General Comments

The BMW 5 Series 520i is totally reliable but for the thermostat. Why do BMW let this kind of thing happen?
