Well priced, low recoil, sound build quality. Selective barrel.

I've had my Beretta 686E Sporting for 4 months now, with approx 1000 cartridges fired. It was my first purchase of a shotgun since I acquired my licence so I chose carefully. After spending months researching the different models and prices I came to the conclusion that you have to spend at least £1000+ to get a decent, reliable shotgun which will last you a lifetime. As I had decided to stretch my budget to around that amount I decided on the Beretta 686E as it had all the build quality, brand name, and reliability of more expensive shotguns. The only thing is does not have which makes no difference to me is a fancy graded stock. It seems in the majority of cases you are paying for a high grade walnut stock, which will make no difference to your scores. In this case Beretta have built a great gun but kept the price down by not having fancy scrolling or expensive stocks. I've had no problems with the gun whatsoever and would recommend the gun to anybody. It feels great to hold, fits like a glove and has very low recoil compared to the other guns I have shot. To conclude; if you want a good make of gun, with the build quality which comes with a Beretta without spending too much, then this is a worthy choice.
