General Comments

My wife bought the Land Rover Freelander after seeing and driving one, overall I thought it was a good car for what she needed, we are farmers and in earth moving construction. It did nearly a years faultless motoring until, the clutch master cylinder failed,(we have our own workshop). I was staggeredd to find not only could I not get a repair kit (usually around $35 or so) but had to buy the entire set of clucth master cylinder,hydraulic line and slave cylinder at a cost of over $300. Then the head gasket blew at 80,000 kms upon disassembly we found it had been done before we bought it. I found this unusual, it was repaired with no comment from Land Rover on whether this is a common problem, it failed again 5000 kms later I then searched the net and my suspicions were confirmed. The liners are moving in the block from a design fault. The car now seems to be unsaleable even if I can come up with a modification to rectify the gasket problem... NOT HAPPY!!!
