Cheaper than taking the train.
Slow, unreliable (have used service over 20 times and it has never arrived within 10 minutes of the destination time. (Glasgow-Dundee, Dundee-Glasgow)
I used the Mega Bus service a few weeks ago. I booked on to the 7pm Dundee to Glasgow bus. At 7pm they were only boarding 6pm bus people, as they were running an hour late. There were plenty of seats left on the 6pm hour-late bus, but instead of giving them to us (who had paid for tickets to leave at 7pm), they told us we could only get on if we bought a new £12 ticket. Several 7pm ticket holders bought an extra ticket to avoid more of a delay, as did some non-ticket holders. Only then were we offered the remaining seats. I find this an appalling way to treat customers. They evidently do not care about poor customer service, and would rather try and get people to pay extra cash than provide the service they promise to their existing customers; ie. "we have your money, we no longer care about you." My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to get on the bus without paying extra, but most people were left to wait an extra hour. Several of those left would have got seats were it not for the greed of CITY LINK. They sold customer seats to new customers.
Dreadful.
