Good Points

Great fuel economy.
Quick, quiet and comfortable.
Looks good and nice to drive.

Bad Points

Not a good example of VW reliability.
Insulting trade in price offered by main dealer.
Sport has rather low ground clearance.

General Comments

I bought my 130 Volkswagen Passat TDI Sport new and did 70,000 miles in 3 years without it ever actually breaking down. But, during that time it had 2 replacement water pumps, 1 turbo unit and my local VW dealer never did find what caused the engine management warning light to keep coming on. Despite that, I'd have another as it was so nice to drive. Although it was a Tiptronic automatic it was very economical averaging around 45 mpg but was still very quick off the mark and would easily out accelerate most 2 litre petrol engined cars.
