The Winchester/ DAISY Winchester 800X is solidly built, powerful and great value for money.
It is heavy, and difficult to cock and load under time constraints, there is a loose trigger action.
This rifle is great if you have a stationary target and ample time to aim, take a deep breath, and carefully squeeze the trigger. Unfortunately, the squirrels that raid my bird feeders are aware of this too. I have a sunroom where I can enjoy watching the birds at the feeders. The squirrels can empty the feeders in short order if not eliminated or frightened away. Usually, its the latter. They and I both know I only get one shot before they are out of sight. And when I say squeeze the trigger I literally mean squeeeeeze the trigger until it tightens and fires. Final analysis: If you want a rifle to shoot at stationary targets I highly recommend the Winchester (with scope)and a support to brace it on while aiming and firing. If you want a rifle to shoot squirrels that raid bird feeders, get a CO2 rifle. Lastly, I have actually hit squirrels at fairly close range only to see them jump and slowly drag themselves away to either raid another day or slowly die from lead poisoning. The only way to kill them with this rifle is to hit them in the head. I do not recommend this rifle for that purpose.
