3 guns in one (due interchangeable barrels), low maintenance, sturdy construction, standard pellets, impressive look, excellent accuracy with 8" barrel, continous shooting with speed cylinders, longlasting gun, abscence of the feeling that you are holding in your hands a plastic/dispossable gun. Low ricochet.
Not the softest trigger, not good for small hands and weak wrists. VERY difficult to find replacement parts now. (Factory does not sell them anymore), so is for the accesories as the 4" & 8" barrels, speedloaders and pistol packs. Difficult (impossible) to have repair/maintenance service outside USA.
I had the good luck and money to buy the Daisy 44 in my country (Guatemala) in 1991. A couple of months later I bought the 8" and then the 4" barrels with 5 speedloaders.
I think the gun has an exceptional performance and accuracy with the 8" barrel (my favorite) even it looks like the Penguin's gun (in Batman movie). Balance... your wrist does the job.
With the 6" barrel you have enough balance and accuracy. Practical to carry everywhere. Good proportioned look. But you feel and see the difference on accuracy vrs. 8" barrel.
With the 4" barrel your accuracy goes down, and looks ridiculous but good to younger shooters.
Experiences in the field: My cousin had a Crosman pistol, and we used to hunt rats, and my revolver always kicked his! One shot was enough to turn upside down rabbit-size rats, meanwhile he needed 2 or 3 shots to stop those rats.
I also had good experiences with "moving targets" (roaches) at 33 feet. No one scaped. Powerful to soda cans and other targets.
Maintenance: a few drops of oil in specific parts will help A LOT. Always store it with a couple of bags of silca gel to absorve moisture and prevent rust. Do not trigger it on the safety, which is plastic and will loose the shape. Clean inside the barrels time to time.
Ammo: Copperhead pointed nose and Daisy pellets will do the job.
Sight: I never adjusted the rear sight, just LEARNED how to aim. It comes adjusted for the 6" barrel; just in the middle of 8" and 4"!
So, great accuracy can be achieved (depending if you are a good shooter of course), though this is not a competition gun (don't ask pears to the peachtree).
I think Daisy made a mistake to taking this out the market. If you find through the Internet one of these, get it!. You will have a reliable gun for many, many years
