Blueing!
I've had this Air Arms S400 Classic .22 a fair while now and have shot lots with it and even won a few Mars bars in a competition down at the local shooting range. Despite it being a .22 it out shot a few .177's. the groupings that I get from 25yds rested with Air Arms field pellets are excellent. You could cover them with a ten pence piece. I've taken a magpie out to 50yds and with a sub 12 ft/lb rifle I think it's pretty decent! As long as you know how much hold over too give. My friends have had a shoot of it as well and have loved it. The bad points, the blueing is awful and this really lets a excellent rifle down. When fitted with the silencer it is deadly quiet but it does make it a bit too big. I'm thinking of getting the carbine as well because of this. I fitted a Harris bipod (which is very good as well) on to this rifle as well to make it a bit easier and steadier when taking shots. My only criticisms on this rifle are the blueing and size but both of these can be sorted with a reblue or buying the carbine. I don't know what this rifle is like compared to the same in .177 but as I've said I'm hoping to buy the carbine .177 version soon. The trigger on this rifle is great in my opinion and can be adjusted very easily. I thought the gun had come to the end the other day but all it need was a barrel clean and is shooting as good as ever now. Well hope this has been some use to you and if you're thinking of a entry level pcp you won't go far wrong with this one.
