joel1983's Review of Eleven Plus Exams www.elevenplusexams.co.uk
4th Jun 2006
Overall Rating
A lot of information is available on the Eleven Plus Exams website. You can find a number of very interesting sections.
They offer information about local tuition services, but it is chosen specifically to benefit themselves. They advertise tutors on their site that have very poor teaching methods, and also tend to have a vested interest in a percentage of the money you spend.

on 5th Oct 2006I don't agree with Joel1983 review. When my child's tutor learned of the Eleven Plus Exams website, she registered herself on it to advertise, and she was charged £10 - £15 for the whole year, just as a nominal admin fee only. They could easily charge a lot more because of the size of the site and it's high listings. Fact - the site makes no money from the tutors. Everyone I referred the site to has nothing but praise for it, including professionals, teachers and parents. It's the only site out there that, for the first time on the Internet, provided proper information on the 11 Plus for us parents.

The review by Joel1983 is misleading and is probably written a jealous competitor.
The website in question, ElevenPlusExams.co.uk, does not have a vested interest in any tutors. This is clear from the terms and conditions. They only charge made to tutors is a £15 administration fee for creating a dedicated advertising web-page. ElevenPlusExams does not gain any benefit whatsoever from any bookings made with any of the tutors listed.
Anyone who has visited the website will know that they have a minimum of 10 years of experience in eleven plus exams plus a teaching qualification or a degree as a base requirement to be able to contribute to the website. For instance 'Learning Together' have nearly 20 years of eleven plus experience plus he is a headmaster M Ed. 'Dynamite Publishing' is written by a headmistress who is also an M Ed. 'Step By Step' is a retired deputy headmaster.
