Fee was charged to credit card but NO ROOM was reserved!


General Comments

After making a reservation with Hostelsclub and being charged the reservation fee, my daughter arrived at the hotel in Paris (less than a week after making the reservation) only to find there was no room for her!

I have e-mailed Hostelsclub, but I have not received a reply or a refund. If this matter is resolved, I will amend this review, but to date we have only the innkeeper to thank for his assistance in helping our daughter find other accommodation. The fee from Hostelsclub was charged to her credit card and no room was reserved. My daughter had the printed reservation from Hostelsclub, which included everything but a confirmation number for the hotel. We have made reservations online before, and we have never had a problem until we used Hostelsclub. Needless to say we learned a lesson, and we will never use them again.

    For my part I would like to say that we are not responsible for the availibility that 8.500 establishments working with us allocate on the Hostelsclub.com website; so they are completely responsible for overbooking issues.
    On the other hand we take full responsability for not answering your refund request.

    We have booked Hostel Bastille in Paris for 10 persons 4 months before the holiday. 3 months later the Hostel Bastille phoned and cancelled the reservation. The Hostel Bastille said that we have to ask the down payment back from Hostelsclub. I emailed Hostelsclub and asked our money back. Hostelsclub replied that the Hostel Bastille has to accept our booking and that they will contact Hostel Bastille in order to make them accept the booking. After that: silence from Hostelsclub an Hostel Bastille. I phoned Hostel Bastille 4 times, each time the man of the reservations wasn't present it seemed. I phoned Hostelsclub in America, the person on the phone wasn't the right person but would take care that the right person would ring me back. That didn't happen. I emailed four of five times no reaction at all in my opinion. So I will never book at Hostelsclub, if there is a problem they won't help to resolve it and they do not pay the down payment back it seems.
