General Comments

I wanted a monitor that would be good for accurate colour work as I do graphic projects now and then; a fast response time so watching DVDs and playing games was smooth; both DVI and VGA inputs; 17 inches.
There were other 17 inch monitors that were cheaper than this Iiyama ProLite E431S (I got mine for £195) but none of them offered such a good spec. In fact, the next monitor up with a slightly better quality was over £250. There is nothing, as of writing, in the same price bracket that offers as much value for money. I am entirely satisfied with the two that I bought and have had no problems with either of them. No dead pixels in either by the way!!

The ONLY drawback to them is the lack of height adjustment, they only have tilt. But in fairness height adjustment isn't really as important as tilt - I'd choose tilt over height on TFTs due to possible problems with viewing angles and colour changes.

Which incidentally there is very little issue with. One of the big problems I had when I was looking for screens was the colour changes when you look down at a screen from above and from side to side. The E431s' have only very minimal shifts. It is really hardly noticeable unless you're looking *right* from the top downwards or vice-versa, Definitely some of the best quality screens I've ever come across - and especially so for the price.
