Three months after I bought this Epson RX600 unit, which by the way isn't an "All-in-One" don't buy it if you need to fax anything. The LCD screen died. If you look at other reviews you will see this is a common problem. Rather than replace it with a new unit, Epson sent me a refurbished machine. I'm getting someone else's headache. Why else would a brand new machine need to be refurbished? A year-and-a-half later, I get an error message common to other users: parts inside need replacement. More specifically, the porous pads need to be replaced. After driving more than an hour to my nearest Epson center I'm told that the parts alone will cost $156.00, not including labor. So I try to contact Epson. Emails to their "Customer Relations" go unanswered. When I call I'm told that they can extend the warranty for 30-45 days beyond the original warranty. What an insult! My machine is 1 1/2 years old and beyond their 1 year warranty. What good is an additional 30-45 days? It will still be out of warranty! You can see the amount of faith this company has in their own product. It is also rumored that Epson designs this and other machines in such a way that when 15% of the ink is remaining you are told the machine is out of ink. And, as another Epson victim pointed out, when just one of the 6 expensive cartridges are out of ink you cannot print until it is replaced. Needless to say, a class action lawsuit has been filed against Epson. I have joined this lawsuit and encourage others to do the same. Would you want to buy a product from a company being sued by consumers? Don't take my word for it, do your own research on the Internet. See what others are saying about its reliability. Read the other reviews on this website. Of the customers who gave this machine 4 or 5 stars a year or two ago ask yourself if their machines are still working error-free while the rest of have had mechanical failures within the first few months. There are less expensive and more reliable printers out there. Do your own research and learn from our mistakes. Not yours.
