Good Points

Good picture and sound etc.

Bad Points

You can not get replacement parts from anywhere, and there are no contact details for the manufacturer. The car cable was dodgy and can not be replaced because of its 9.5 voltage.

General Comments

I have an Orbit 768-B 7 portable DVD player, and I have spent several hours on the web trying to locate a replacement cigarette lighter connection. I have contacted other sellers of this product, but no-one knows the whereabouts of the Orbit Company or distributors!?

The player, whilst it worked well, the accessories were of a poor standard. After several hours of trying to get a replacement cigarette lighter power lead, it was all to no avail, therefore I cannot now use the product in my car at all, except without the attached battery.

The voltage for the unit at 9.5 volts DC is uncommon, therefore spare batteries etc. are a problem. Had I known about the aftersales issue, I would definitely not have bought this product. I do not recommend it at all.

If anyone knows anything regarding a replacement or how to contact Orbit, could you please leave me a comment?

Hi, If you search on ebay or the web for a REGULATED CAR POWER SUPPLY you will find plenty of generic power supplies. Look for one with variable voltage and a suitable selection of connection tips. Should cost about £10.
Alternatively search for a car power invertor - this changes 12v DC to 240v AC and would allow you to use your mains connection from the car cigarette lighter point.
    Hope this helps!

I am in the same boat. I need a power connector for our 768S DVD player (the piece that connects the battery to the DVD player). My 3 year old lost our original. I have not been able to find anyone that can help me find one. If you ever figure out how to locate replacement parts, please can you let me know via the Review Centre forums.

    Thank you
