The JVC GR-DV4000 digital camcorder is a decent camera, and of good quality. It is also generally very reliable.

It produces very nice quality images with a lot of light.
The lens is wide (52mm), which is an average photography camera size, so it is easy to get hold of any lens adapters that would fit.
It looks very swish in real life, especially with a wide angle adapter (which I use almost all the time on it).
The manual focus ring is very smooth and easy to use.
The LCD screen is large, which is good for seeing what you are doing or showing other people.
It is comfortable to hold. It seems to be especially designed to hold it low down, which is good for skating or sports filming.
The aperture can be adjusted (called exposure on the side).
Nice flick-up flash for taking photos.
Decent quality photos.
Can attach microphone, headphone, light and flash.
There are so many good features.

The battery it comes with does not last very long at all. It is advised to get a big, long-lasting battery. (I got a no name one for £20; they are usually up to £100 for branded ones).
It was very expensive when I bought it in October 2004, which means it wasn't great value for money then, but it is a lot cheaper now.

Overall, it is a very nice camera with great results.
