General Comments

We flew with Thomson Fly from Doncaster to Sanford. Both airports were small with limited facilities. The only problem with the airports was baggage reclaim at Doncaster, as we had to wait 45 minutes for passenger bags to appear, which is a little extreme considering ours was the only flight being unloaded. The crew had their bags unloaded within 10 minutes of landing, which summed up the attitude that was evident throughout; that passengers were really an inconvenience and the airline is run to suit the convenience of its staff.

During the flight the crew were unhelpful to passengers wanting to move seats so that they could sit together. On more than one occasion they were heard to reply to simple requests "I cannot do anything about that" when all they needed to do was to put themselves out and provide a little customer service.

We paid extra for Premium Economy seats despite having read bad reviews, and we were pleased that we had. Not that Thomson Fly upgraded seats are good, just that they are better than their economy. Legroom was poor in Premium Economy, and even worse when the person in front wants to recline. I phoned Thomson before booking to check the legroom, and unbelievably their reservations department didn't know the seat pitch. They told me to use the email form on the website and a reply would be sent. I have been back a week and they still haven't replied.

he seats are leather. The headrest on my seat was faulty. Small personal DVD players are supplied which Velcro to the back of the seat in front. So every time the person occupying the seat in front moves, your screen shakes about. There is a support to hold the screen in place, but my player didn't have one, it had snapped off.
The headphones that are supplied are uncomfortable and very poor, and it was difficult to hear any dialogue on the films, which were the same in both directions. Surely Thomson could suss that they could supply 2 sets of entertainment. I bought a set of headphones while in the USA for the return flight which made a huge difference.

The food was hot, but there was so little room to be able to get comfortable to eat, it was untrue!

Would I fly with Thomson Fly across the Atlantic again? Never, but I would use My Travel and First Choice upgraded cabins, which are far superior.
