Good Points

Friendly staff who go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay.
The food is out of this world, and you can eat as much or as little as you want.
Excellent variety of drinks available 24 hours a day. Not just local drinks, but anything you want, including champagne.


Bad Points

The only real bad points we had were, there was not enough hot water at nights, unless you got in early, which most people don't want to.
Half the ponds were empty around the lobby which I thought spoiled the look a little bit.


General Comments

Overall, we had the best holiday ever at the Holguin Hotel in Cuba. Every one of the staff was polite and friendly. The A la Carte restaurants were amazing. If you want a touch of class, then book the Romantica restaurant for your last night. You won't be sorry. The Chilean Sauvignon Blanc is highly recommended to go with the lobster!!!

If you want to relax on the beach, it's best to go down to the left of the water sports where it is much quieter. There is a mobile bar on the beach down there, and you're not to far from toilet facilities. I would recommend going out on the little catamarans if you can. It is an amazing experience if you have never done it before. The water is so clear, and snorkeling is great.

The hotel gardeners do a fantastic job around the complex, and they keep the place in top condition (don't be afraid of their big machetes). The flowers in and around the complex are gorgeous too, with some fantastic wildlife to boot. Watch for the Bee Hummingbird!!

The nightlife in the hotel is brilliant, and there was a show every night. There was also karaoke and a disco. There is a 24 hour lobby bar, so you can't go wrong.

Our overall rating for this holiday is 10 out of 10. Fantastic value for money. It is a part of paradise you won't ever forget!!
