Not the smallest, but fast and with all the features such as informative lights, easy to change toner, cheap to change toner, straight through paper path, easy to add paper, and if there is a paper jam it remembers what was on the jammed page(s) and reprints it, fast first print, ease of unjamming, plenty of memory, and read the secret in the comments below. I also run my old dos accounting system in the parallel port and my windows throught the USB2 port with no conflict. I've had it about three years
None,
Everything about the Brother HL 5140 is good, and if you press and hold the two panel buttons down together until the fourth light comes on, it resets itself. This means that it thinks you just put a new toner and drum unit in, so you can continue to use the old one. So far I have over 4000 prints on the old toner (10 000 copies) and drum (24 000 copies) with no effect on print quality yet.
