Puerto Del Sol Aparthotel Review

Lovely Marina with some beautiful boats on it, which were very impressive.
Visited a couple of restaurants where the people were very nice (Churchills springs to mind).
Cala D'or centre is a 25 minute walk, and it is is on the other side of the Marina. It has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants (would stay in the centre and recommend).

What can I say?

Various creepy crawlies in the room (mainly ants), and staff (with the odd exception) were not very nice:-

1. we complained at the snack bar about things (brown bits) floating in the lemonade, and all we got was a shrug of the shoulders from staff. We then complained at reception and asked for the manager, and again, we got a shrug of the shoulders with the manager not available.
2. We had a leaky toilet and asked at reception for it to be fixed. Several hours later we returned to our room to find the leak was fixed and the mess (raw sewage) was half cleaned up using the provided hotel towels. These (now brown) towels were left in the corner of the bathroom along with an horrendous smell. We contacted reception about this, and was told no cleaner was available (I think that is what she said, but their English seems to get worse when a problem is reported). We had to re-clean the room with towels, which I then threw outside where they stayed for about 14 hours.
3. Breakfast was just about edible, but lunch and dinner were terrible, and I'll usually eat anything. Be careful with the meat as on several occasions it was not cooked thoroughly (the chicken was pink, the kebabs were like rubber, and the fish was very bony. Vegetables and salads were just OK.
4. Lunch was supposed to be between the hours of 13:00 and 14:30. We, and a few other families arrived down at 14:15 the one day to find cold scraps and nothing else. when we questioned it with one of the workers, she just tapped her watch, and again shrugged her shoulders. One family turned up at 14:25 on another day, and they were told that if they wanted food this late they would have to pay (they were all inclusive).
5. Children's entertainment was OK, but the room was quite small, so you had to queue for 20 minutes before it opened to get a seat (and this was out of peak season in May).

I could mention a few other bad points...

The Puerto Del Sol Aparthotel in Cala D'Or was awful. Cala D'or and the Marina were very nice, but Puerto Del Sol is very poor in my opinion. I would rather go to Basra.
