Good Points

POWER, 2 power settings in one gun and oh yes POWER.

Discontinued, heavy, only about 100 were ever made.

General Comments

The Beeman Dual Magnum is a .22cal. gun made by Theoben and can be found under either moniker. The difference between the 2 is the Theoben guns have a darker, tradition color brown stock and the Beeman has the, "Blonde" version. Since it is a Theoben product it has the famous gas piston which has no twang at all and its power is adjustable downwards by 20-30% by a schrader valve located at the rear of the compression tube. The gun is an underlever cocked gun with 2 power settings. The first sroke is impessive at 830-840 fps. with FTS pellets. You can then cock the gun a second time (yes the gun can be cocked twice) and fire the same FTS pellets @ 1040fps. Even the heavy Kodiak pellets are reaching 840 fps. a number that most piston struggle to achieve with a much lighter pellet. Theobens's literature rates the gun @ 22-24 fpe. on the first stroke and 30-36 fpe. on the second. There is no other piston gun around that can match these numbers except for possibly a custom made gun. The gun also has a unique, "pop up" loading port that is some what cumbersome and things get worse if you use a large scope like my Weaver V16. This gun will send pellets clean thru 2"X4" boards at about 25 ft. People have used this gun to take Rockchucks out to 93 yards. This kind of power is only surpassed by some PCP guns and this one never needs to be refilled. The Dual Magnum is about another 100 fps. faster than even the Theoben Eliminator! Awesome power, nice looks, solid as a rock but very, very rare.

   This is a a bit more information that I have accumulated on the Dual Magnum. This and virtually all information can be applied to either the Theoben model or the Beeman model.
   Dual Mags were only made in .22 cal. They are 43.75 in. long and weigh 9 lbs. with no scope. I believe the weight does include the integral Dampa mount which is standard & included. Dampa mounts are screw-in not clamp-on mounts in which a rubber bushing surrounds the screw that affixes the mount to the gun. The bushing has a shock absorbing ability that is useful for such a powerful gun. The stock is made of laminated wood and the barrel is made by Anschutz.
   The DM's were only made from 3/01 until 7/02 in which time the exact # of guns remains a mystery. I have contacted both Theoben UK and Theoben USA and they have not given me an exact production amount. They say... less than 200. Well 1 is less than 200 and so is 199!
   Accuracy is good for such a potent weapon with accuracy claims of slightly over 1/2 in. @ 40 yards on the lower power and about 1 1/2 in. @ 75 yards! The recommended ammo is H&N Field and Target Trophy (aka. Beeman FTS) for low power and Bisley Magnum's (aka. Beeman Kodiak) for the high power setting. Good accuracy claims have been made with Crosman Premiers but I have not tried them yet myself. Meisterkulgeln's were OK at ranges under 35 yards as were Beeman Silver Ace pellets. Aside from these few pellets I mentioned a number of other pellets that I tested had very poor accuracy. Over 30 yards most were completely unacceptable with groups growing to 3 and 4 inches.
