General Comments

Could someone out there please let me know if the Beeman 2004e is the same gun as the P3 ???.I know it imitates the HW40, I bought a 2004e a week ago and and have been breaking it in ,about 300+ shoots so far with different types of pellets. It seems to like the round nose one's and also I tried some Gamo round lead through it with some good results (loading was easier with gamo round). Took about 20 shoots to eye in the sights (I'm 60 and not so steady as I once was but I still got good results, my Yellow Pages is now unreadable. Loading take some getting used to and once you have mastered it , it becomes easier. With a bit of TLC I think it will be a very good gun. BRAVO BEEMAN.

Marksman 2004, BeemanP3, Weihrauch HW 40 PCA, Beeman 2004. well...actually all the same. The tear down photos and parts diagram for the airpistol which is part of an extremely excellent work by Todd Cooper. http://my.tbaytel.net/coopers/HW40Review/ At the recent SHOT Show, the Beeman name was introduced on the 2004 pistol instead of Marksman. Apparently the company feels it will sell better that way. The Marksman 2004, which will henceforth be called the Beeman 2004, is just as nice as the Beeman P3. In fact, Weihrauch repairs both guns in Europe! http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2006/02/marksman-2004-single-stroke-pistol.html Beeman 2004 is about one of the best deals around. A little history: During 1992 Richard Kazmaier Jr., president of Kazmaier Associates Inc. of Maryland, was interested in the purchase of the Beeman company. The Kazmaier company reportedly owns Bike (athletic clothing), S/R Industries (sporting and recreation equipment), and other holdings. S/R Industries, in turn, owns Marksman Products. Mr. Kazmaier was interested in adding the high-end specialty, dealer distributed products of Beeman to S/R Industries, separate from Marksman, to help provide a balance with Marksman's economy level, mass-market products. April 1,1993 S/R Industries purchased almost all of the operations and assets of Beeman Precision Arms Inc. and the Beeman trademarks. Made in Europe - BeemanP3, Weihrauch HW 40 PCA Made in China - Marksman 2004, Beeman 2004 =========================================== S/R Industries - BeemanP3, Marksman 2004, Beeman 2004 Please post if the "e" version is not made in China. Thanks, Ray No matter which you own they are actually such fine airguns that all are great deals in my opinion.

I bought a Beeman 2004E in January 2004 and after approx 100 shots it malfunctioned ( lost pressure) I returned it to SMK who repaired and returned it in approximately 2 weeks, the gun is undistingushable from the Weirhauch HW40 except for the sights which are not as sophisticated, the finish on the small visible items of metalwork, hammer and trigger and the country of manufacture which on the 2004E is China and on the HW40 is Germany ( see inside the casing) Chinese quality control is possibly not up to German standards. The difference in price is not substantial ( about £20) so I think if I were buying again I would go for the German version. I find the cocking very hard ( I am 62) and have bought a Walther CP88 for this reason, however the 2004E is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

thanks for the info yarzak very helpful. My gun is still performing well, except for the little pin which is the hammer locking pin on the top part moved slightly but i had already read a review on how to cure the problem ie:-there are some holes conveniently situated to put some 3x3 grub screws in and secure the pin. Apart from that this gun is a good buy.

Agree 100% with Airborough re: cocking very hard. (53yrs old) Contributed to a carpel tunnel like condition. Now wear brace when using. (Price of Marksman 2004 at Pyramydair is $50, P3 $189, WH 40 $149.)

I would actually like the HW in .22
