Bad Points

It's about 15-20 minutes walk into Polis and the road is not lit, so you would need a torch if coming back after dark. It's also a long way if you're carrying water, which is much cheaper in Polis than in the hotel. The main rooms and bedrooms are a bit gloomy after dark, although the TV room had bright lights.

General Comments

I would definitely return to the Natura beach hotel. It is a lovely little hotel with large grass area towards beach (sand/pebbles - beach shoes needed). Food was good, and much of it locally grown and organic. We had free freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast, and the marmalade was home-produced (as were the olives, houlimi cheese and herb teas). The staff were all friendly and efficient. The owner, a professor of biology, designed the hotel to run on eco-friendly lines. He is often around with his spaniel, Harry, and he offers lectures about the nature of Cyprus which are well worth attending. He also leads walks into the Akamas peninsula (sturdy footwear and sun protection essential). Rooms with inland view get full sun until mid-afternoon, while rooms with sea view are in shade until the same time. The latter get the best views of the fantastic sunsets over Akamas. The hotel is very quiet - good for relaxing. If you want something more energetic there are facilities including swimming pool, gym, pool table and tennis courts. The sea was warm enough to swim in, and there's some easy diving in coves off Akamas - Polis Diving Centre picks divers up at the hotel on request and takes them to diving sites.
