General Comments

Vitamin C Eye Reviver 15ml £6

There comes an age when even a man starts searching the shelves for something that will get rid of those panda eyes.

At 36 and with more parties under my belt than you can shake a stick at, someone recently told me I was one of those people ''that always looked tired''.

Searching in the most unisex beauty store I could - The Body Shop - I found this eye reviver and thought I'd give it a go. I like some of The Body Shop's men's products, but mainly for the shop's approach to animal testing and fair trade.

I used the eye reviver daily for about two weeks before the effects became notable. It contains ''light reflective particles'' which obviously suggests some of the effects are purely cosmetic.

However, the extra moisturising has smoothed out some lines.

I'm cynical of beauty products. I once saw a show that said regular massage or dark patches can help reduce them. Maybe it was getting into the regime of doing this with the cream.

Although I know Vitamin C is an antioxidant, I can't vouch if this ingredient had an additional effect. But none the less, the effects were good.

People started commenting if I was getting 'more early nights' (which I wasn't!) or even if I'd taken some time off on holiday.

I'm sure there's no magic to this product. But it's driven me to write my first review on this site. Maybe I'm just a male amateur in the world of skincare, but I feel I got lucky with my first product! I'd recommend giving it a go - the small amounts needed means it lasts ages (one month in and I'm nowhere near half-way through), and consequently is good value.

It's an easy, invisible addition to anyone's beauty regime.
