Good Points

Nice website, friendly service when everything ok, mail order service.

Extremely patronising when things go wrong, failure to abide by trading standards laws.


General Comments

I purchased a dressy bridesmaid dress in white from www.capricorn-wedding.co.uk to be used as my wedding dress in a civil ceremony. I decided to go with this company as they were basically the cheapest because they offered mail order service. When the dress arrived there was what looked like a black mark showing through the lining at the bust. My wedding was 4 weeks away so i was beginning to panic as because the mark was on the lining i was advised that dry clean would not remove it. After contacting capricorn they told me to return the dress to see what they could do. I returned the dress and decided that when they received it - if it could be fixed i would travel from glasgow to carlisle to have the dress fitted. However when i contacted them they said they would get back to me - but come the following day i had to contact them to be told they had sent the dress back to me and the problem had been a bit of fluff trapped in the lining that they removed. As the dress had been sent back already i never asked about the fitting but when i asked if the Post and Packaging would be refunded their attitude was really horrible and they went on about how i got the dress for £110 - which was the price they had quoted - but because it was £159 to buy non-mail order that this somehow meant i was not entitled to the refund on the P&P. They also seemed annoyed that it was a bit of fluff - and not a mark - as if this should make a difference to me - as really all you could see was what looked like a dirty mark showing through. To be honest the cost of the P&P isn't the issue - it was their horrible attitude that was. It just left me feeling that if you want to buy from this company be sure to have plenty of cash to be ensured a decent service. Too late now - but I would advise anyone planning a wedding never to buy your main items online - for although you do also get some great service - when you experience the not so good it really does taint the run up to your day.
