Good Points

Good bass

Reasonable price - not like the ridiculous £60 you could pay for much the same thing from the likes of Shure

Bad Points

For some reason it doesn't seem to give me as much of the 'nuance' of the songs as the cheap plastic earbuds that came with my MP3 player

After four-and-a-half months of use, the plastic/rubber covering on the wire started to wear away - the same thing happened on the extension cable.

General Comments

The Sony MDR-EX71SLB are great headphones - although the bass can be a bit overpowering at times - but they don't last. I haven't been hanging the MP3 player by the headphone cable, or anything like that. Most of their useful live has consisted of going from my ears to my jacket pocket, or from my ears to my DS. There is no logical reason why the plastic/rubber covering should have failed, other than poor build quality which (until now) I never associated with Sony (my Hifi, laptop, MP3 player are all Sony and I have both Playstations).
