Good Points
Superb location. Facing the Grand canal (opposite San Zaccaria water boat/taxi stop), and 5 minutes stroll from San Marco square. It is is an absolutely perfect location for a weekend stay!!! Hotel Savoia and Jolanda is a 3 - 4* English equivalent. The bonus is that they have an annex to the hotel (behind in the San Zaccaria church courtyard) which is a 2 - 3* standard which uses the hotel facilities.
Bad Points
It's not luxury, but it is a nice standard and it is in a perfect location. There are few all round (location, standard, service) better in Venice. I'm a regular now, and I have recommended it to many people.
General Comments
Shop around online, and you could also also try their website for a direct price http://www.hotelsavoiajolanda.it/
I've booked also through Expedia and Octopus travel!!
Check it out yourself, but think about this as a really perfect base. It is clean, shabby chic, traditional Italian decor. It is friendly, and you can spend your money on fantastic restaurants, gondola rides, wine and ice cream.
