When the LVW-5005 is working properly it will record to both + and - formats, and it is easy to use.
My machine gradually stopped recording, and it even turned some earlier discs into 'data' discs and removed the recorded material.
My Lite-On LVW-5005 DVD recorder was very good to start with, but it gradually lost interest in recording. I tried firmware updates from Lite-On but that did not work. I tried contacting Lite-On, but I did not get any replies to my emails and no-one seemed keen to answer the phone.
It still makes a useful DVD player though, which is something. I would not buy another!!
