I brought my 97K over a year ago, for about a month or so, I was trying to decide which rifle I wanted, I wanted a springer, and it came down to an AAtx200 and the HW97k. The 97k has an excellent trigger, known as the Rekord unit, its been one of the best for years and years (AA named their CD(computer designed) trigger unit and named it so because of the logic - CD's are better than Records-get it?) right, the trigger is adjustable, using the screw behind the trigger itself. its 2 stage meaning that you pull the trigger back and you'll feel sudden resistance, thats the first stange, squeezing again fires the shot and the two stage trigger releases the pellet when you feel its going to - which helps. The HW97 has an automatic safety which works fine, its placed at the rear of the cylinder, and easily 'snicks' off with your thumb - sadly its not re-settable, which means you have to take the shot once its been taken off. The Stock looks nice, i dont know whether its ambidex or not, but for right handers, i think most will find it more that suitable. it would of been nice to have some chequring on the stock, but I guess it wouldnt look as nice. The 97k dosent have any open sights so a scope is a must, I have quite a powerful scope on mine (Tasco 6-24x42) and its very long (about 16inches)but because it has a fixed barrel it dosent matter, the loading port is big enough to fit your thumb into easily. the 42mm scope sits on 1 peice mounts and is a perfect height for the cheeck piece. The 97k comes with a sound moderator in place, which works well to silence the gun to some degree. downrange its very silent and you cant hear the internals of the gun at all. The Blueing is done to a high standard and the gun just oozes quality, being a Weihrauch and a springer, it wont need much servicing, just wipe off with an oily cloth after use so it dosent rust, and maybe a new spring after 10years of use. I paid £390 for the rifle, scope (Tasco 6-24x42) and a good set of 1 piece mounts, the rifle alone is about £230 - £250 which is a very good price for such a good gun. I reccomend to anyone thinking of buying one that is it heavy! so you cant really stalk with it that well, its best suited to static hunting, with a high mag scope (maybe a 6-18) in .177.

  I have recently been hunting with the rifle, and to ne honest, the weight was never a problem, it complete went out of my mind when I aimed at a rabbit, I was both stalking and static shooting and in both roles it was fine. I tried firing my mates HW95, and the crosshair was all over the place, I was more accurate with my 97, despite the weight

  One of the other "Experts", stated as a Bad Point "not being able to reset the safety". A comment was added by a non-expert that to reset the safety all the operator needed to do was "pull the under-lever until you hear a click and see the safety is reset". You're the second "expert" that had not figure this out. So what are the qualifications required by this website, to be considered an "Expert"?
