Optical quality. Works in wide variety of light conditions. Macro wonderful.

General Comments
Coming to digital photography for the first time, the Ricoh RDC7 was a great choice. Easy to use and reliable photographs every time.
Colour is great as I like to do flower photography, its very true and there is lots of detail even when not in macro mode.
