General Comments
First time I've seen B abyshambles and they were fantastic, took their time to show though and the crowd were close to rioting at one stage.Pete swagged about and swung the mike like he didn't have a care in the world, music was brilliant and he did a Stone Roses cover of I Wanna be Adored which made the night. They did all the Libertines classics as well as the whole album of Down with Albion. If you have not seen Babyshambles you are missing out on a experianc of a lifetime.A++++++++

on 3rd May 2006A REPLY TO PIXIEOFDOOM . ...Do you think when the thousands of beatles fans brought music and concert tickets were worried about supplying Mr Lennon\'s drug habit when they went to watch them play? No - i didn\'t think so. I\'m a fan of babyshambles and the libertines so a chance to watch them play 2.5 miles from my home was not to be missed i dont support his drug habit i feel he should be locked up for his actions and given help. So Pixieofdoom i was commenting on his performance as a singer of a rock band not a junkie. Will i stop buying his albums and going to concerts? No chance- do i wish him to die at the age of 27 like you said due to drugs( by the way Kurt Cobane shot him self drugs didn\'t kill him a shot gun cartridge did) no i will not as long as he keeps on producing lyrics and poetry like he does now i will buy albums and tickets, i think people who take drugs need help or prison in a hard labour camp.

on 3rd May 2006Dude, dude, I think you're missing the point. John Lennon was a big star who had loads of money from record sales before he had a drug habit. He didn't need the money he was making after he started using drugs to support his habit. He also didn't brag about his habit, perpetually commit crimes or repeatedly refuse offers of help from his friends, family and bandmates. He didn't aspire to being a rock n' roll cliche (possibly because he helped create the cliches). The drugs didn't destroy his ability to perform and his ability to write. They did not become his existence. Pete plays as many gigs as he does because he needs the money. He sells his soul to the tabloids on a regular basis because he needs the money. He won't admit this though. He won't admit this to the point that he broke up his last band over it. He needs help. He needs his fans and the people who care about him to say "Stop. We will not help you out by giving you money. We will not support you as an artist until you realise that the rock n roll drugs and destruction cliche has been played out by others and it's not cool." He needs tough love. Surely you would be a bigger fan by foregoing the pleasures of his music in the short term if it means in the long term you'll have many great years as a result because he's left with no choice but to sort himself out? I think he's a talented songwriter (although Carl Barat has just proven he's the better songwriter of the 2), and I'd hate to see him dead. I used to love going to Libs gigs. But I will not give money to Pete's drug habit. I won't do it nor will any of my friends. If more people did the same maybe he'd be backed into a corner. As for 27 being the rock n roll death year, what I meant was that if you're going to die a rock n roll death, it's usually between the ages of 27-29. Jimi Hendrix was 27. Kurt was 27. Janis Joplin was 27. There's a whole massive long list. Look it up.

Does it not bother you a little that when you bought your gig ticket you put money towards Pete\'s drug habit? As a fan do you not want him to stop, to get help, to get better? If you give him money and adoration you\'re only encouraging him. Stop it. Do you really want him dead before he reaches 30? 27 is the rock n roll death year - Ian Curtis, Kurt Cobain, etc. It\'s not looking good.
