I recently hired a car from Budget Ireland and from reading the other reviews I think their MO is pretty similar worldwide. I got an internet quote off them and, when I picked the car up, showed it to them and told them it was the price I wanted to pay, to avoid endless questions about optional extras. When the credit card bill came through I discovered that they had STILL overcharged me. When I enquired about it it turned out that the quote excluded charges listed in the TERMS & CONDITIONS of all places, so it was a completely bogus quote.
I reported them to my credit company for fraud.
Plus the car had over 50,000 miles on the clock, looked like a previous rented had rolled it into a ditch and it stalled twice in the middle of nowhere!
Never again...
