My LCD screen has broken on my Canon Ixus 750 digital camera, and the camera is only 3 months old. It happened in a padded case in my handbag, and it's not covered by the guarantee. It will cost a third of the price of a new one to be fixed. I can't believe my bad luck. Is it going to happen again?

cocoblack........look upon the cost of the replacement screen as a kind of on-the-spot fine for being careless enough not to have a crush-proof camera case. The other four reviewers rate the camera highly and I see no reason why your particular model should be any different. In fact, Steve (he of the Digicams) rates it very highly. Go on, put a brave face on it and write the cost of the replacement screen off to experience. AND GET A CRUSH-PROOF CASE!!

I got an Ixus 750 camera for my birthday - took one photo, put it in the case recommend by the Jessop salesperson, put it in my rucksack with just a fleece in it and when I took the camera out the LCD had gone. The camera was only two days old. In discussions with the shop there appears to be a problem with this LCD in that it is very delicate. Also looked at some online reviews on the Ixus 750 and a number of people have had problems with the LCD. Would not recommend this camera due to this, fortunately I took out the insurance so it's not costing me but I can see this thing going for repair again in the future.
