General Comments
I traded in my Nokia 9110 and Ericsson R320s on a R380s, and to date I have not looked back. I originally got the R320, because I wanted a phone that I could carry with me to building sites and seeing clients, but I missed the Nokia's ability to write notes, check e-mail - but it was too big to carry around. So when a friend offered me a great deal, I couldn't resist.
Packing all those features into a package not much bigger than the R320, was like a dream come true. Only fault I can find with it, is the lack of profiles. I wonder if this 'problem' would be addressed by Ericsson in a software upgrade. I know the EPOC OS cannot be upgraded, but the basic phone software shouldn't be a problem.
Having owned a Palm IIIe in the past, I felt quit at home with the icon based menu system and using the stylus. I've heard some people complain about the 'concept', but lets face it - it's a mobile phone with added PDA features. If a more powerful, software ungradable platform is needed, opt for Ericsson's MC218 then.
An added bonus, all the goodies that's included in the package. If you were to set a value on all of those, and subtract it from the retail price of the R380, then I think it's very reasonably priced!!
