Accuracy. Handling. Near silent operation
Mine had a fault with the bottle.
I bought my BSA Superten Carbine secondhand, but from a dealer. It's .22 and came fitted with a Tasco 2.5-10x40 Varmint scope and a laser. Its also been fitted with a Theoben Evolution silencer rather than the BSA one as standard, not sure why but it works!
I've had lots of .22 guns before so wasn't too concerned about accuracy and have to say I've been more than impressed, gobsmacked would be more appropriate!
This is without doubt the most acurate gun I've owned, and the list includes TX200's, Falcon FN12's, and a Mk1 Rapid 7!
I can achieve half inch groups quite easily out to 35yds and at 25yds it might aswell be a single hole.
I find it's more accurate than the .22 Rapid 7 I had and also .177 spring guns too, though for target work I think a pcp in .177 would beat it at the very long ranges, 40yds+.
The power is as expected, just short of the 12ftlb limit and very consistent.
Handling is superb, the gun is a little heavier than I expected but I quite like that anyway. The stock is an early version, no chequering on the fore end but that isn't really a problem for me. The cheekpiece feels just right and makes the gun very comfortable to shoot with the scope fitted.
The trigger is absolutely superb, excellent feel and I've not needed to adjust mine at all. I also like the fact it has a safety catch which I can decide to set or not rather than one which comes on automatically.
I'm not sure why the silencer was changed for the Theoben evolution but anyway, the gun is near silent in firing. I'm pretty certain that from 30 odd yds away you wouldn't hear it!
I had a problem with the buddy bottle on mine, faulty seal but apart from that I cant find any fault, certainly I've had no problems with the magazine like some owners seem to.
So would I recommend it? YES!!
As a legal limit hunting air rifle I can't fault it and think you'd be very hard pushed to find anything better, certainly for the money. Brilliant!
