General Comments

Well Piglet I'm sorry to say, but your findings are not mine, maybe I've just been unlucky. However I think not.

The Flube airline prices are good if you book in advance (as in at least a month in advance). Please don't make the mistake of wanting or needing to change your flight ticket though! All of a sudden you find that Y Economy class suddenly becomes a number of different versions of Economy class. This can be very costly if you have to change your ticket or flight.

I have now flown with Flybe on the 7am Glasgow/Southampton run virtually every week since July 2005, and this flight has only taken off on time ONCE!! Us regular passengers have stopped betting on the time of take-off!! The latest take off time has been around 7.55, and that is with all the passengers fully loaded and doors locked prior to 7am.

I travel to work on a Monday and then fly back to Glasgow on the Friday. The 16.20 (now 16.50) is often delayed (due to aircraft leaving late from previous destinations etc). For a long time this flight, and the later 18.20 flight back to Glasgow have never taken off on time.

The trolley service on the plane at times can be faulted, but never the Cabin Crew, who are helpful and courteous at all times. They have been known to get really fed up at the delays too! The problem with trolley service? Well, like sometimes there isn't one due to the trolley contents not being loaded or replenished.

Unfortunately, Flybe are the only carrier to get down before 9am, as the BA flights are later in the morning. (Though I hear they are somewhat tardy on their arrival times too). In a little bit of defence to Flybe, I have been told on a number of occasions that the delays to the Glasgow early morning flight are caused by Heathrow Air Traffic Control, and as the flight has to pass through this area, maybe that is more the reason for the delays?

I guess they can't please everyone all of the time!! I seriously have had fantastic experiences with them and I have used them for years, even when they were british european an I haven't had any issues. I also have a colleague who flys leeds southampton every day and she is thrilled also, in fact when she changed her ticket with less than a few hours notice she was only charged £25.00 which I think is fab. The prices are only cheap if you book in advance, I agree with that, but I have booked a week in advance and got a flight for 2p excluding taxes etc. When it would have cost me £60.00 on the train and 4.5 extra hours! Have you tried contacting them to raise your issue, I would be a little unhappy if it was happening to me regularly too.

May I also add that I noticed that you are loaded on the plane on time, therefore it is not a fault of the crew, the engineers or FLYBE this is down to the Air traffic control or the airport operations. Maybe I have just had very very bad service from other airlines in the past and thats why I find flybe a breath of fresh air?? I don't know!

Ahh Piglet if you fly during peak hours i think you may change your mind as you certainly will not get flights for 2p then. Regular business commuters during peak hours do not get fares this cheap. A single one way ticket two weeks ago during peak periods was £134.

By the way the 07.00am flight this monday didnt load until after 07.05 (should be boarding 06.30am) and didnt take off until 07.30.

And yes we have complained continually, but to no avail. I think you will find as well that BEA (British European Airways) was a totally different airline. (B)ack (E)very (Afternoon) was around in the days of (B)etter (O)n (A) (C)amel, before it became British Airways.

FLYBE is british european. FLY British European? Part of walker aviation. I know this because I have used them for so long. We are each entitled to our opinion and it is fair for people to have an informed choice. My flights for 2p have been at peak times. I used them to attend a business meeting yesterday in Manchester and we were 10mins early. Should the service I receive change I will update my review, until then I stand by what I say. If you have such an issue and you feel that you are not getting any response, maybe you should contact their MD. You seem to be a regular user, I am sure your opinion will be valued. For your reference, this was on their site. News 22 May 2006 Punctuality for week ending 19th May - 81% on time! At Flybe the priority of flying our passengers on time is second only to our safety responsibilities. Please see our latest punctuality statistics: 81% of Flybe flights arrived on time 95% of flights arrived within 60 minutes of scheduled arrival time A flight on time is defined as one arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. These statistics are based on all Flybe flights between 15th May and 19th May 2006 inclusive. 15 May 2006 Punctuality for week ending 12th May - 81% on time! At Flybe the priority of flying our passengers on time is second only to our safety responsibilities. Please see our latest punctuality statistics: 81% of Flybe flights arrived on time 97% of flights arrived within 60 minutes of scheduled arrival time News 08 May 2006 Punctuality for week ending 05th May - 87% on time! At Flybe the priority of flying our passengers on time is second only to our safety responsibilities. Please see our latest punctuality statistics: 87% of Flybe flights arrived on time 98% of flights arrived within 60 minutes of scheduled arrival time I have compared these to some other airlines from the CAA figures and they are generally not as good. We both have our experiences and we are both entitled to share them. Good Luck, I hope that you manage to get to work on time one day!

We will have to disagree Piglet, but to each their own. On a point about BEA v's Flybe, however please note, British European Airways, or BEA, was formed in 1946 by an Act of Parliament. The airline operated European and North African routes from a variety of airports around the United Kingdom. BEA was also the largest domestic airline within the United Kingdom at the time, operating flights to major British cities, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast and Glasgow. The airline was also the first customer for many British short- and medium-haul airliners of the 1950s and 1960s, including the Vickers Viscount, Vickers Vanguard, BAC One-Eleven 500 and Hawker-Siddeley Trident. In 1969 BEA formed a charter subsidiary BEA Airtours to provide inclusive tour holiday charters. BEA ceased operations in 1973 when it was merged with the British Overseas Airways Corporation to form British Airways. So basically Flybe is not the former British European Airways.

Please note that I did NOT say they were BEA I said they are British European which they are. They were rebranded a few years ago to FLYBE (fly British european). There seems to be some confusion.
