General Comments

Have just bought a Lexus IS200 (second hand) and I really do have to say that the service was absolutely impeccable.

I have always driven Peugeots and at the grand old age of 25 decided it was time to move up in the world. I looked at all the German brands and Lexus, knowing that I wanted a 2-3 year old compact exec with quite high spec. The staff at the German dealerships were downright rude and treated me with utter contempt. Admittedly, I was dressed in my jeans and t-shirt, the prefered dress for a Saturday, but still, I was a customer with money to spend. I was either ignored, given dirty looks, or dealt with as if I had crawled out from under a rather nasty rock. Not the way to get me to part with my hard earned cash.

Finally, at 4:30 in the afternoon I rolled into the Lexus dealership and the only two staff members still there were the manager and a salesman who was just finishing with another customer. The manager came to help me and he was courtious, didn't prejudge me by my age, clothing etc and was more then happy to help. I saw the car I wanted to take a look at and he personally got it sorted out, took it to the fuel station and got it filled up and told me to take as long as I liked, get to know the car and try out all types of road. I didn't come back to the dealership until 6:30 and he was still waiting and even stayed to do all the paperwork and get the deal done.

The haggling (as if) was un-hurried, no pressure was put on me and to add to the fantastic sales-service, I was even offered a 12 month RAC membership, free first service, full tank of fuel and mats and 12 months tax. They also offered (but I declined) new alloys. I didn't like the latest ones and prefered the style that was on the car already. To top it all off, I was also given 12 months golf membership at the local country club.

I finally let the guy go home at just after 7, over two hours after the dealership actually closed, and yet he was still smiling, chatting and offering me even more coffee! I did say I would come back on the Monday to do the paperwork but he was having none of it. All in all, just about the best sales-service I have ever had, anywhere. I am certainly not the sort of person they expect to find in their showroom, but they treated me with respect and earned every penny of my business.
