This hotel is right in the tourist area of the Senegambia region (Kololi Beach). It's right on the beach front with a large pool area, water cleaned everyday, and a quiet location. Morning and evening visit's from monkey's which is great fun. Staff were friendly.
Bad Points
Rooms are very basic and first impression is "how on earth can we stay here for 2 weeks" but once you become familiar with the country and the way they live it doesn't seem so bad. Breakfast was very basic and the same everyday, no variation in fruit or anything. Other food options seemed good but were very expensive compared to the restaurants in the resort area.
General Comments
This Holiday Beach Club Hotel is a good base for a holiday in The Gambia. Having visited a few other resort areas this is definitely the biggest and has the largest choice (which isn't that big!)
The Gambia is a great country to visit, the weather is beautiful and it's very interesting and certainly open's your eyes to the way most African's live. I would recommend getting out and about away from the tourist area as this is where you see the real Gambia.
The local's are friendly, often over friendly and this can be intimidating and sometimes intrusive. However they are completely harmless.

we were in gambia at the holiday beach club in march. the hotel staff were very helpful and polite. we were a little worried at first because we had heard alot of different things about the hotel but all we can say is the hotel was sorted we went to gambia last year and we will be back next year marvellous.
