Lift-off over steer.
My colour hid the dirt well

Felt like a weak car at eveything.
I had the Citroen AX for one year, and I only enjoyed it on wet corners when I could get the back end round, other than that it was awful. It broke down on me 8 (eight, not a typo) times in one year. This included; one engine, one cylinder head (on replacement engine) one alternator, one complete electircal failure, petrol pump, two clutch cables and a random over heating once.
Every journey was spent wandering how close to my destination I would be when it broke and how serious it would be, needless to say I vary rarely enjoyed it!
Driving the car itself was dull, the wind had more of an effect on the cars direction than the steering wheel, it had that much movement before it did anything! I know it was a one litre engine, and that once apon a time it made 50bhp (at the flywheel) but it was painfully slow, and when it was going fast (down hill in fourth gear at 93mph was my record) it was noisey, and bits of it would be wobbling off the car, it felt like the doors and mirrors were held on with hopes and dreams at times! If you put more than one person in it expect your journey time to quadrouple because your driving efforts had to be doubled to get the damn thing to work, (it's all exponential, and it's not exagerated the car was that sensitive to extra weight!)
To be fair though, sometimes if I drove like I was 90 and not 19 I could get about 45mpg, it only cost me £750 fully comp to insure and it never looked dirty. And because there are a wealth of 17 year olds with the mis-conception that Citroens are fast I sold it on no problem.
To conclude, throughtout my ownership of this car I did 12,000. It would have been much more if it worked more often and was more enjoyable to drive, the cost of getting it through the year was a huge dent to my student sized wallet, and this includes the failed MoT. Maybe I had a Friday car, the build quality was appalling, but I know there are many better cars out there for the same money, so avoid this at all costs!!! I know drive a Pug 306 turbo diesel, it's infinitely better!
