General Comments

Me and my family came back from the Southern Palms Beach Resort in March and this was our second trip and all I can say is this hotel is fantastic value for money. We booked our first trip to the Southern Palms last year through Escape2kenya and we were a bit worried about taking our young children to Kenya but after taking the advice given to us we booked and was very happy to do so. The hotel is great for the family and the food is really good with a wide range to choose from. The rooms are cleaned every day and the staff are amazing with the children.
We are going on safari next year and we will be adding the second week at the Southern Palms and we have already booked again with escape2kenya. I would advise people to go all inclusive as it is excellent value for money. If you only fancy a short safari there is Shimba Hills only 1 hour away or Tsvao 2 hours away. There is plenty to keep you busy outside the hotel and I would urge you to go out of the hotel and meet the local people as the Kenyan people are so friendly and they allways have a smile. I hope this helps those thinking about going to this hotel .

I AGREE FULLY THAT YOU SHOULD MEET THE PEOPLE BUT WHY NOT GO ONE STEP FURTHER AND DONATE TO AN ORGANISATION THAT RELIEVES SUFFERING AND HELPS GIVE THE CHILDREN A FUTURE. ONE OF THESE HAS NO ADMIN FEES and you can donate with the assurance every penny goes towards the welfare of all children irrespective of religion.

Hi, I agree 100% with your comments and I would also point out that the company I booked with runs a charity in Watamu and also donates £1 per person with every booking. I have booked with escape2kenya many times and they are one of the few companies out there that care about the country they are sending people to. Be aware though there are many scams out there that relate to childrens schools, just be careful and check out any charity that is touting for donations on the beach. Again have fun and remember in Kenya a happy face is all you need.

I MUST AGREE FULLY WITH THIS AS I AM RUNNING JAMBO-TOTO CHILDRENS SOCIETY AND AM WELL AWARE THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF SCAMMERS OUT THERE BUT IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE WHEN FIGHTING TO SURVIVE/LIVE MORALS TEND TO TAKE A BACKSEAT, THIS IS NO EXCUSE FOR GREEDY POLITICIANS. WE OVERSEE EVERY PENNY OF THE MONEY WE RAISE AND DO A JOB MORE CHEAPLY THAN THE SO CALLED "SPECIALIST AGENCYS WITH V HIGH WAGE BILLS (BIG IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER) IF ANYONE WANTS TO FIND OUT MORE E MAIL JAMBO-TOTO@TISCALI.CO.UK.
