Establishes your credit
Choice of card designs
No annual fee
The APR is high because the card is designed for people who need to improve or establish their credit rating.
It takes a while for your purchases to show up online.
As an 18 year old, I needed to build my credit rating up. I decided to apply for a Capital One classic credit card to do so. I was given an instant decision online within one minute. After I applied, the credit agreement was sent quickly. Once I sent it back, I received my card a couple of weeks later.
Capital One gave me a responsible credit limit based on my circumstances at that time. I have contacted Capital One with queries relating to my account, and have found the customer service very good and helpful. I have already found that having this credit card has enabled me to get credit from other companies, and seems to be doing its job very well at strengthening my credit.
Capital One also offer an online facility to access your account, which is very useful to keep track of your account activity.
The APR is high, but after having this card for a good while, it would often enable you to get a lower APR card in the future etc.
