General Comments

I called Sheilas Wheels car insurance today to get a quote. The result was £441. Although I had made it clear to them that all I was calling for was a quote, and being only the 2nd insurance company I had tried, I would need to go away, think, and try others to make a comparison, but the guy just wasn't having it. He kept going on at me along the lines of 'well, why can't you make a decision now? I will put you on hold for 2 minutes and then you can decide! This is a good quote. Are you unhappy? No, well you should be happy, if you're happy you should get it now, why are you waiting? You want to go through giving all your details again to someone else, why?"
I felt harassed, and normally I'm not the sort of person to take that sort of sales tactic, but it kept coming; him telling me about all the benefits "what if your handbag gets taken from your car?" He seemed to be using a lot of scare tactics, and I wonder if he was thinking that being a girl I'd fall for it.
He had an answer for everything, and the only way (short of hanging up) that I could get rid of him was to agree to him calling me back in half an hour (which he said was plenty of time for me to make up my mind).

Anyway, I turned off my mobile to avoid his call back, and instead used the house phone to try other companies. I found one that quoted me £180 cheaper! Yey.
