Good Points

'AXA Car Insurance' and 'Good points' are mutually exclusive.

Bad Points

Very high premiums that increase annually, and remain the same when you move to a more preferable post code!
Unhelpful scripted call centres in foreign countries!
Claims. Don't get me started on claims. I effectively had to handle my own no fault claim through the 3rd party. No help whatsoever from AXA.
Even though the claim was dealt with directly by the 'at fault' 3rd party insurer, the claim remains a black mark on my policy.

General Comments

All in all I had a very bad experience with AXA car insurance. I'm 47 and drive a modest car (group 8 insurance). I have 8 years no claims. Having been loyal to AXA for 5 years with no claims, I moved to a 'better' postcode. The extortionate (£700) premium remained the same. I then reported a claim when someone shunted me. Despite having forked out around £3,500 in premiums over the years, AXA seemed to do all in their power to make it a painful experience. I've now cancelled and gone over to RAC. Same car, same address. Premium now an unbelievable £230! which, expletives aside, should give you an idea where AXA are now in my estimation.

    ramtin.......I agree with you 200%!!

They are really the pits - and I mean THE PITS. I'll be writing my own experiences with them soon.

Oh dear. I find this rather disturbing. I've just joined Axa because they gave me the best quote - I got prices from 20 other insurers and am now paying around £550 for a group 17 car (I am 34 and have full NCB and no points). Mind you, I went through a broker. Didn't know you could approach Axa direct for a quote as their website directs you to your nearest broker. Just hoping I don't need to make a claim...

Sorry to hear about your experience ramtin. Sadly we can't allow your skull and crossbones image to go up on the site, although rest assured it raised a chuckle.

    Thanks,

    Chris N.
