Great graphics
Great controller design
Internet
Awesome games
It's officially dead, as of 2 weeks ago
It lacked 3rd party support
Some consoles had overheating problems (because they were in an entertainment center)
The Dreamcast was a great gaming system. It had excellent games, awesome hardware, internet, and a sweet controller on top of that. This was Sega's best work. The tiny underestimated system did not deserve to die. I personally did not have overheating problems with my Dreamcast, but my friend did. Despite popular belief, the PlayStation 2 is actually inferior to the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast can support up to 32 layers, while the PlayStation 2 could only support up to 24. Despite this, the death of the Dreamcast was imminent because of the huge Sony fan base. I have had a great experience with this system, and I learned Japanese just so I could play the newest games on it. So, if you want a great system, get a Dreamcast!.
