Good Points

The Legacy is a good-sized estate with excellent road holding and handling, especially with the Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control fitted to the 2.5 GX Auto with Lux pack. This provides the car with near foolproof electronics that assist the driver when the going becomes slippery.
The engine is not over powerful but gives good torque throughout the rev. range. The lack of a turbocharger is a plus point for me as I plan on keeping the car for some time (It's already clocked up 107,00 miles) I have run turbo'd cars in the past and the increased performance decreases the reliability and longevity of the engine.
The Legacy is comfortable on long runs and I really like the heated seats that ease back pain on the M25! The black leather still looks like new and shows no signs at all of wear.
My example came fully-equipped with a 6 CD changer and electro-pneumatic suspension. This suspension system keeps the car at a constant attitude and adjusts according to the load. It also provides a height adjustment for larger puddles or snow.(Also great for loading the shopping at the supermarket)
The car looks good on the outside but is understated and therefore not a target for criminal activity.
It has so far proved very reliable. I have just had a new compresser fitted to the suspension but with over 100,000 miles covered I don't consider this at all bad. Thanks here to Barrett's of Canterbury-nice job.

Bad Points

The interior is quite a mess of different colours and surfaces.

General Comments

With 107,000 safe miles under it's belt the Legacy is still performing like new.
The handling is fun especially as the SVDC system is there ready to catch the car when my own skill runs out.
I choose the car because of the inherent safety of the AWD and because of Subaru's excellent reliabilty record. I have run two Subarus before and have been impressed.
The whole vehicle appears to be bullet-proof and I am extremely happy with it.

Beware the 2.5L 4 Cam suffers frequent head gasket failures. I had two in 106,000 miles.

My Car is the newer model-not 4-cam.
