General Comments

The Cafe Uno in central Glasgow has a good location but in my opinion the service is appalling and the staff extremely rude. Not only did it take a while to be seated, but even after the food arrived - it took considerable time for us to receive any cutlery to eat with! Furthermore, they forgot to give us the bill after we had asked and when I asked again. I would've understood if it was busy - however they had at least 4 or more staff for not a very large restaurant which wasn't particularly busy.

Cafe service in the U.K. is generally appalling. Usually the only thing that they get right is to deliver the William quickly, but in your case not! It never fails to amaze me that virtually every cafe fails to understand what 'vegan' food entails. Guess what happens if one asks for 'macrobiotic,' 'gluten free' or whatever - yes probably just the same - "Dah." I only know of the 'Nero' group of cafes (barring specialist vegetarian / vegan cafes) that even stock soya milk, so- when travelling - if I want a coffee I have to carry my own milk or a flask around! It seems that every job is available in the U.K. with little or no training which explains why on my last flight we appeared to be ditching in the sea, and I do my very best to avoid hospitals.

This morning my friend and I visited Cafe Uno for a coffee and waited for approx 7 mins waiting to be seated. When my friend asked the waiter if we could sit down we were told to wait albeit 3 empty tables. He served one table and walked past us on the way back into the restaurant. We decided to go elsewhere and will not be patronising this establishment again! As we work locally we have used this cafe for many years and our business was welcome then. Perhaps the new management should take a leaf from the former manager's book!!!
