Looks great
Remote is nice size
Picture breaks-up & freezes
Bought a Philips DTR200 Freeview box in October '05 primarily for the way it looks. Compact design and the silver/black finish looks great.
Used it at first with an aerial off an old portable (5-10% signal). Sky channels and E4 would get awful reception regardless of adjustment. On top of that box would jam and would have to unplug to reset. Hooked up a mains powered aerial with 42db gain signal jumped to 90% all round. Problem solved! Nope, picture still distorts and jams frequently, digital text and interactive services rarely work. 7-day EPG never lets me use reminders and software never updates. Recording becomes a lottery, will I end up with a mess of pixels for 90mins, instead of the big match?
Whereas my sister bought a cheapy freeview box from ASDA for half the price. Menus are identical, uses it with an old loop aerial and has no probs at all.
Sorely disappointed with Philips.
