Good Points

Well-balanced colour resolution which are natural and not too vivid as may digital camera photos, light-weight and slim, easy to use, quick shutter speed and takes reasonable quality photographes in the dark indoor room or in early evenings without a flash with a 'natural' mode.

Bad Points

The images aren't as sharp as they could be, especially in dark indoor rooms.

General Comments

I decided to post my review here because I was surprised by other 3 reviews of Fuji Finepix Z2, and made me wonder if their Z2 were the same camera as mine. I bought my Z2 in Japan so I thought maybe the quality of cameras is different between the ones bought in the UK and in Japan, but I realise that nowadays they are all made in China I didn't think this is the case. Then I realised that when the pictures taken by Finepix are viewed by a non-Finepix viewer (i.e. ZoomBrowzer by Canon) the quality of thE photos look substandard and very grainy indeed. So that might explain it if the previous reviewers were looking at photos in their own viewer.

When printed images were very good quality too - better than my previous Canon A85. IT seems to be especailly good at printing soft focus images - colours are very well balanced and the colour of the human skin especially is very natural and close to non-digital photos.

I think Finepix Z2 is a good all-rounder if you want to carry around a camera with you wherever you go, and take many indoor photos and looking for a good battery (it comes with a mains charger so saves the cost and weight of batteries too) life. Z2 may not be ideal for taking big scale mountain views, nor produce crystal-clear images without noise (I think its capability to reduce 'blurred' images is the cause of not so sharp and vivid images), so this camera may not be everyone's cup of tea. But for people like me who want to take photos with plenty of natural light rather than a flash, this is an ideal model for its increased sensitivity to natural light which captures a very good atmosphere of everyday life. The only quibble I have is its sliding-cover shutter - it is sometimes a bit awkward to open as the surface is very smooth, especially in bitter winter days when you have cold and dry fingers.
