Bad Points
I can't really think of many bad points. You get a bit of hassle at the airport. The Gambians want to take your case to the coach. We usually let them do this, and we give them a bit of money. At the end of the day, they are only trying to earn a honest living.
General Comments
The Palm Grove hotel is absolutely fab! It is clean and friendly; the food is good; staff are very friendly, and they cannot do enough for you. My husband and I have stayed at the Palm Grove Hotel in The Gambia 7 times. We last went in March 2006. We are due to go back in November 2006. Can't wait! We love the place and the people. The weather is just so hot.
If you want to chill and be very very relaxed then the Gambia is the place to go, especially the Palm Grove.
They have a few beach bumsters (Bob the Builder and David Beckham). They are real charmers when it comes to the European ladies (don't be gullible). If you want to eat out, go to Ala Baba's Senegambia.
It is an absolutely fantastic place to go!
