General Comments

I have just spent the week in Ireland and the first few days in Dublin in the Jury hotel in the middle of Dublin the views from the forward facing rooms are very picturesque in that you over look the cathedral. Unfortunately the view from the back is terrible, so be like me and ask for the front rooms. The rooms were not boiling hot but you could raise the heat if you wanted too, but for me they were a refreshing change from the stuffy rooms that I normally get that won't allow you to lower the temperature. I did however have terrible trouble with my electronic key card and on three occasions had to return to the reception to have a new card to let me in my room. The bar is very lively and there is a large TV in it so you can sit and watch the sport. Right next door is a newsagents that sells almost anything and within 100 yards there are numerous pubs and a hugh range of Italian, Chinese, Indian, Mexican and many other resterants as well as many take away outlets. The full Irish breakfast was more than enough to satisfy even my large frame and all in all this was one of the better larger hotels that I have stayed at. Only one last warning, the hotel does not have their own car park and a municiple car park is behind the hotel. This costs 11 euro's per day even with the hotels discount and if you have a lot of luggage make sure you drop it off at the front of the hotel first because the walk from the carpark to the hotel will finish you off before you have even started if you have to carry your cases as well.
