Spitfires. I recall some fairly significant rust problems with mine and you have to sort the rear suspension out for it to corner. But excellent fun, very cheap to run and insure. And when I was 19 a great bird puller... but then that was 20 years ago, happy times! Buy a GT6 if you can get one.

Terrific looking car, and (being of similar age to Pete - see previous review), a hit with the fairer sex! Pretty poor dynamically, even considering its age, but very cheap to run. I also used to own a GT6 (again referring to Pete's review), which was much faster (although hardtop only), but had same "interesting" handling characteristics due to similar swing-arm rear suspension, although not as bad as the 2 Vitesses (essentially Herald with same straight-six engine as GT6) that I've also had. All cars fairly rusty, but no more than typical of their generation, and easier to repair as separate chassis, not monocoque.

    Enjoy, Andy!
